Our checklist helps you decide what suits your family. You need some items straight away. Others are useful but can wait. Sometimes borrowing, buying second-hand or going without is the best solution.
You can save your progress in your own browser. We do not ask for your name, date of birth or an account.
How the editorial team works
The editorial team gathers information, compares sources and writes practical explanations based on them. We use AI to help develop the text and check the content against the sources listed. The publisher remains responsible for everything on this site.
