Important information when buying a bedside crib

Differences in storage and movement

The Next2Me Essential has folding legs and two lockable wheels. The Iora has a sliding function and basket; the Iora Select also has four wheels and folds in one step. For use beside your bed, check the permitted bed height, frame and attachment in the instructions for the exact model.

How to fit the cot securely against your bed

VeiligheidNL recommends a secure attachment with no gap between the beds. The baby's mattress must be at least 12 cm lower than the parents' mattress. Keep the side panel fully raised when you are sleeping.

Keep the mattress flat and horizontal. Stop using the cradle as soon as your baby can roll over, or sooner if the instructions say so. Then move to a suitable cot.

A standard cot is also an option

A separate cradle or cot beside your bed also keeps your baby close. The bed frame does not need to be suitable for attachment straps. Never remove a fixed side from a standard cot yourself to turn it into a bedside cot.
